Q. How do I add a voiceover to my ReelACT website?
A. There are two ways to add a voiceover demo to your website: upload an MP3 file (free) or send us your demo and we'll set it up for you ($20).
Q. How can I improve the visibility of my voiceover?
A. Please make sure that you list all languages and accents that you are capable of voicing. To update your skills, log into your website and go to resume > skills.
Q. How do I upload an MP3 file?
A. To upload an MP3 file, go to My Website > Voiceover Reels.
You can upload any number of demos, as long as each file is a valid .mp3 file not exceeding 5MB.
After your demo is uploaded, ReelACT will review your demo to ensure professional quality. Once it is approved, the voiceover will appear on your ReelACT website.
Q. How does the approval process work?
A. The approval process simply ensures that your voiceover demo is of professional quality. Demos produced at a recording studio
and compressed with no significant loss of audio clarity are always approved.
Q. Where do I send my voiceover demo?
A. Please send your video and audio reels to:
10 Jones Street #2D
New York NY 10014
This is a mail-only address, no drop-offs or signature-required delivery please.
Q. Is there anything I need to include with my CD?
A. Yes. Please include the following:
- Your name and number in case our editor has a question
- Your ReelACT link so your voice sample is not uploaded to another person with the same name
- A short title (e.g. Voiceover Demo 2005, Gaming Voiceover, Radio Commercial/Announcer, etc)
- If you are sending in more than 1 sample or already have samples on your ReelACT website, please include relevant instructions such as "make the new demo my main demo", "replace my old voiceover with my new voiceover", etc.
- A payment (see below for pricing and payment options)
Q. Can I get my CD back?
A. Yes. Just make sure to include a prepaid, self-addressed envelope.
Please note that we are not responsible for CDs lost in the mail. Please do not send any materials that are rare, impossible to duplicate, etc.
Q. How long before my voiceover is online?
A. It takes up to 1 week to process your voiceover (both uploaded via the website or mailed in). If you have an urgent need, please call us to request expedited processing and we will accommodate you at no additional charge (if possible).
Q. How long can my voiceover be?
A. Your demo can be any length, however please note that the recommended length for any one sample is 1-2 minutes. Samples exceeding several minutes will take longer to start playing.
Q. What are your prices and payment options?
A. There is a one-time setup fee which includes digitizing and compressing for the web, uploading to your reelact website and unlimited hosting.
Or, you can upload your own .mp3 files for FREE.
Payment options:
- Credit card. Upon receiving your voiceover, we will call you to charge your credit card over the phone.
- Personal check. Please allow an additional week for check processing.
Q. I don't have a voiceover demo. Where can I get one?
A. Through ReelACT's partnership with Manhattan Producers Alliance studio in Midtown Manhattan, you can record a top-quality professional voiceover for just $50/hr.

Q. I am in the process of recording my voiceover demo. Any suggestions?
A. Yes. Here are some recommendations based on feedback we receive from casting directors and producers.
- If you can only produce one voiceover demo, we recommend 40 seconds to 2 minutes length with several varied styles.
- If you can separate your CD sample from your internet samples, we recommend that you break up your demo by type: e.g. commercials, business corporate video, audio books.
- If you want ReelACT to set up your voiceover demo and have a choice of formats, it's best to send in a .wav format file on a CD.
- Making a custom demo for a specific client can help you really stand out. This works best if the client provided a portion of their script and you do not have a ready sample whose content is similar to their requirements.
