ReelACT.com Launches Industry's Largest Video-Based Online Casting Directory
New York, August 13, 2004 -- Headshots are history - thanks to ReelACT.com, a New York-based Talent Video
Directory where hundreds of actors can be instantly auditioned online for free.
"Headshots lie", says ReelACT managing partner Deena Varshavskya. "You receive hundreds of seemingly suitable
submissions only to discover that most look nothing like their headshots, or they don't have the acting skills
you need. Ninety-five percent of auditions today are videotaped. So why not start with video and avoid the
disappointment altogether?"
Producers and directors start by searching the directory and viewing actors' auditions and demo reels.
Shortlisted talent is saved in a convenient online folder where it can be easily shared with the entire production
team or the client.
"This is the first useful casting website!", said casting director Robin Bobbe. "I searched the directory and within
minutes was watching talent videos. ReelACT cuts out so much wasted time! Why aren't you guys everywhere?"
ReelACT.com is especially suited for bi-coastal and international productions that involve multiple decision makers
in far-flung locations. One recent casting involved a banking client in Taiwan, a casting director in L.A. and a
director in New York. With ReelACT, the production team was able to quickly complete the casting process with none
of the traditional hassles.
