The Dead Place is a low-budget, but ambitious Horror feature. It is a follow up to our 35 minute short "Stab Awake" which had a wildly successful screening on Halloween 2009. We have partnered with Zula Entertainment and a major DISTRIBUTOR to bring a quality, intense and original horror adventure to the genre. This is our first feature and we are looking for serious actors who are willing to work hard to raise the bar and eclipse the passion, originality and success of Stab Awake which will be entered in worldwide festivals this year.
Pre-Production begins in February 2010. Further compensation is a small possibility for some roles, but not promised. We are casting over 34 roles and will discuss more details as Pre-production and talks of additional funding progresses. |

Isaac |
Seeking Males age 20 to 30. Isaac is the starring role and the most challenging. He is very troubled, but he's intelligent with a sense of humor. He is dark and brooding around people, funny and charming around his friend Katherine and evil and menacing when possessed. The actor who plays Isaac must have tremendous range.
We need someone who can play Isaac at High School age AND 20-something. This role is quite physical involving fighting and minor stunts. Serious inquiries only. |

Katherine |
Female 20 to 30. Katherine is the co-star, but even more challenging than the lead role in some ways. She is pretty and charming with a Winnie Cooper type beauty. She is intellectual with a sexiness she does not try to show. She is very strong-willed and feisty. She is sweet and charming, but turns vicious when her best friend is threatened. She starts out as a smart and ambitious high school student and later becomes a strong, professional Parapsychologist who faces ghosts and demons without hesitation.
Must be able to play the character as both a Senior in High School and in her late 20's. This role is physical and involves fights and minor stunts. |

The New Kid |
| Male age 20 to 30. The New Kid plays a major role in the film. He is the physical manifestation of the Demon that taunts the main character. He appears as a High School student in Isaac's class and continues to appear to him and grow stronger throughout the rest of the film. He is very cryptic and creepy. He has wide eyes with a big smile on his face at all times. When he is angered by Isaac's resistance he can be very vicious. This person should have an animated face and be able to both make you laugh and creep you out. |

Dr. Brynne |
| Male, 35 to 45. Dr. Brynne is the head doctor at the asylum where the main character is committed. He wants what is best for Isaac, but he does not understand what he is really going through and approaches Isaac's case in a strictly scientific manner. He and Isaac's best friend Katherine butt heads about Isaac's treatment; especially when Katherine finds out that the doctor is severely over-medicating Isaac trying to treat what he does not understand. This is a small, but very important role and only appears in the 2nd act. |

Joe |
Male, 20 to 30. Joe is a quiet, unassuming guy who hangs out with the bullies that tease Isaac in High School. He has no beef with Isaac and does not see his friend James's fascination with tormenting him. He is much more of an individual than the others and does not fit with the bullies, but hangs out with them because they have a history. He falls for Isaac's best friend Katherine and causes trouble between them.
Years later he becomes a businessman and a kind and loyal husband to Katherine. He plays a major part in Katherine's life from the 2nd act to the climax. |

Connor |
| Male, 18 to 30. Connor is an aspiring demonologist and a reluctant friend to Joe (Katherine's husband). He is somewhat flamboyant and loves to joke and push people's buttons. He appears in the 2nd act to help Katherine understand what she's dealing with. He is intrigued by the situation and plays a major role in helping Katherine in the climax. |

Megan |
| Female, 20 to 30. Megan is a college friend of the Co-star Katherine. She is beautiful with an air of intelligence and confidence. Her and Katherine are both friends and rivals. They both study parapsychology, but Megan believes that spirits are in our minds while Katherine knows they are real. She appears in the 3rd act to help Katherine with Isaac's case and sees more than she bargained for and completely freaks out. To say she was not prepared for the real thing is an understatement. Just when it seems she's about to give up; her instincts take over and she makes one last effort to survive in a final battle with Isaac and the Demon in the climax. |

Ellen |
| Female, 20 to 30. Ellen is a sweet and confident girl with psychic abilities who loves her boyfriend Eli. When Eli is invited to film Katherine's paranormal investigation in the 3rd act; he brings her along for her skills as a medium. She is unwelcome at first, but quickly impresses Katherine with her psychic abilities. The investigation becomes very dangerous and she sticks by her love as they fight for their lives in the climax. |

Eli |
| Male, 20 to 30. Eli is a videographer. He's a hip college guy with a medium for a girlfriend. He is fascinated with the paranormal and jumps at the chance to investigate an abandoned asylum. When he finds out that the paranormal is very real; he is terrified, but determined to be the one who documents it. It is a small role in the 3rd where he and his girlfriend Ellen fight for their lives. |

James |
| Male, 18 to 28. James goes to High School with Isaac and is the most dominant of the group of bullies that pick on him. He's a cheesy, wannabe rocker guy that thinks he's really cool. He's cocky with a macho bravado and loves to talk crap to everyone including his friends. James has a major problem with Isaac for no apparent reason. He continues to taunt Isaac until he snaps and things go way too far leading to a final confrontation between Isaac and the bullies. |

Kyle |
| Male, 18 to 28. Kyle is a high school classmate of Isaac and Katherine. He's a jock who wants to be a rocker so he comes off as a little of both. He is one of the bullies who picks on Isaac. James is the dominant of the group, but Kyle is one that seems closest to James. When James gets them into more trouble than they bargained for; he is the one that pushes the others to go along. It's a small part with very few lines, but he is part of the hunt for Isaac that changes the course of the film. |

Keenan |
| Male, 18 to 28. Keenan is another in the group of bullies that picks on Isaac in High School. He's more of a rocker than the other guys and seems to want to hang out with the others so he can make wisecracks and be part of what he thinks are the "cool kids". He is one of the only ones who just wants to survive the run-in with Isaac. He helped pick on him, but he is not prepared for things to escalate and is smack dab in the middle of the wrong place at the wrong time with a bad choice of friends. |

Robert |
| Male, 18 to 28. Robert is the last of the group of bullies that picks on Isaac in High School. He's neither Rocker nor Jock like the other guys, but tries to dress like them and be part of whatever they're doing. He has very few lines and blends in with the others. By the time he realizes he has made the wrong choice of friends he is in the middle of a fight to the death with Isaac. He just wants to get the hell out there, but neither his fellow bullies nor Isaac will allow him to walk away. |

Carla |
| Female, 18 to 28. Carla is a high school classmate of Isaac and Katherine. She is the trash talking girlfriend of James the bully. She holds her own with the guys and teases them when Isaac gets the better of them. She's pretty, but has a loud mouth that makes her less attractive. She has a small but very important role. She makes the mistake of taunting Isaac at the wrong time and is involved in one of the most pivotal scenes in the movie which leads to a fight to the death between Isaac and the bullies. |
