CAL
CAL (early-mid 20s), handsome, well-dressed African-American man, aware of the negative feelings from Ligaya's family, but decides to propose to her without the blessing of her father and hopes the engagement will finally prove that he is serious about their relationship. Must be physically fit.
BENITA
BENITA (early 50s), Asian, good with Asian dialects, but fluent to semi-fluent in Tagalog preferred, gained a few pounds to motherhood, welcoming face, respectful but also snobby. She hopes her daughter's relationship with Cal is a phase or a form of rebellion and will quickly blow over.
ERIC
ERIC (early 50s) Asian, good with Asian dialects, but fluent to semi-fluent in Tagalog preferred, tall, once handsome, but has gained a few extra pounds, quiet, stern and traditional. He dislikes Cal and finds him unfitting for his daughter. Must be somewhat fit.
